Early Life

Lionel Messi was born on 14 June 1987 in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. His father George Messi was a factory worker and his mother Celia Maria Cacchitini worked as a part-time sweeper. Messi was the third child of 4 siblings. At the age of 5, Messi started playing football for Grandoli, a club trained by his father. After that in 1995, Rosario started playing for Newell’s Old Club, a club in the city itself.
